What we have learned from our Journey to Shift-Left Security with Infrastructure as Code
As organisations are increasingly hosting their services in the cloud, Infrastructure as Code tools(IaC) is highly used in automating the provisioning of the cloud services. Those tools can introduce security weaknesses and risky changes to the cloud platforms which started to become a highly attractive attack surface for the hackers. This presentation is a study about IAC security of 22 Visma projects having their cloud infrastructure hosted in GCP, AWS and Azure. The aim of this presentation is to make practitioners aware of vulnerabilities that can appear in their infrastructure when using IaC but also it shows what we have learned in our journey to Shift-Left security for the cloud and shows why IaC scan is not enough to secure a cloud environment.

Failure is not an option. It's a fact
Failure is an inevitable part of success. Failure in the context of innovation efforts has helped thousands of start-up companies to succeed but in the context of a known execution process, it can harm results or reputations or create undue risk.
In software development we are situated at the cross road between innovation and known processes so how do we benefit from failure and achieve success?
In this session we will explore several studies and best practices of successful companies that have embraced them both.
Nora Jones
How do we talk to each other?
How surfacing communication patterns in organizations can help you understand and improve your resilience.
As a system increases in inevitable complexity, it becomes impossible for a single operator to have a clear, unambiguous understanding of what’s happening in the system. Understanding the system requires a joint effort between teammates and technology. Often, we are too focused on the single operator experience to improve this. In this talk, we will uncover how communication patterns in organizations can reveal how systems actually work in practice, vs how we think they work in theory – and use this knowledge to improve the resilience of our systems.
